A Brief Meditation on Impermanence, Grief, and What is Possible

Everything is impermanent, inconstant, and subject to change.

That’s hard truth, because the world can be shaped in ways that harm and hurt, and it can happen by degrees.

So we grieve a world that has made oppression, hatred, injustice, and inequality feel so utterly normal.

Everything is impermanent, inconstant, and subject to change.

That’s good truth, hopeful truth, because the world can be changed – for wellbeing and wonder and joy.

So we fix our hearts and minds, hands and feet, on what is possible.

We keep dreaming and working together to make a world full of well-being, love, justice, equity, and equality, not just possible, but utterly normal.

We carry both the grief and the hope within us, as we go. And a new world blossoms within and around us.
